Unlike a majority of other cities, the City of Rincon has not assessed city property tax since 1998. The Mayor and City Council plan to continue not charging residents city property taxes as long as it is feasibly possible.

By using the Local Option Sales Tax, the City of Rincon has been able to roll back the city millage rate. What that means for Rincon residents is enjoying city amenities – quality fire and police protection, and water and sewer usage – without the usual city property tax.
