Police Department
The
City of Rincon Police Department serves and protects the citizens of
Rincon with a staff of full-time, certified police officers. Well-trained and well-equipped, officers can be seen throughout the
community ensuring the City of Rincon remains a safe place in which to
work and live.
The Police Department is located on W.
17th Street in Rincon, behind the library. Their phone number is
912-826-5200. In an emergency, dial 911.

Chief Bohannon was with the Chatham County
Sheriff’s Office in the early 1990’s and came to the Effingham County
Sheriff Office in 1996. He worked as a Patrol Officer, DUI Task
Force Commander, Corporal, Sergeant, Criminal Investigator and as
Captain in charge of the Criminal Investigation/Support Services
Division. That Division compromised the General Crimes Unit, Drug
Investigation Unit, DEA Task Force, Training Unit, SWAT and the Crime
Scene/Evidence Unit.
The Chief has attended the University of
Maryland and Armstrong Atlantic University and has over 1500 hours of
approved training.
