New Library Announced

RINCON, GA — The City of Rincon and Effingham County are partnering on a project that will bring a new public library to Rincon while supporting the City’s long-term vision for economic growth and a connected downtown.

As part of the agreement, Effingham County will acquire a portion of city-owned property for the construction of a new library. The remaining acreage will be utilized by the Rincon Economic Development Initiative (REDI) Board to encourage commercial investment and future development that complements the City’s Master Plan.

“This partnership is an investment in the future of Rincon,” said Mayor Kevin Exley. “A new library gives our residents a modern community resource while also helping create the foundation for the walkable downtown our citizens have said they want to see.”

The new library is expected to provide expanded programming opportunities, improved accessibility, and space designed to serve Rincon’s growing population for years to come. As planning moves forward, community members will have opportunities to provide input on the design and features of the new facility.

The project represents another milestone in the City’s commitment to thoughtful growth, strategic partnerships, and investments that enhance quality of life for residents.

Additional details on the design process and project timeline will be shared as they become available.
